     -Abhyanga-
 

Special type of oil massage in which strokes are given according to the diseases for 45 minutes for 7 to 21 days. It is extremely useful curing your rheumatic illnesses, neurological afflictions,

    psychosomatic diseases.

     -Dhanyamla Dhara-

    Here, in this warm herbal liquid is poured all over the body in a rhythmic manner     through      a special vessel for 45 minutes to 1 hour daily. This treatment is     very effective for     paralysis, rheumatic complaints etc.

     -Dhara-

In, this process, medicated herbal oil is poured on the    forehead and head continuously with the subject supine    on a specially designed table. It tunes up the mental faculty, improves memory and is good for treating    paralysis, senile dementia, and other neurological ailments. With appropriate medicines, it can also be    employed in psychiatric and psychosomatic diseases, insomnia and general debility.

   -Kati vasti-
 

In this process, specially prepared warm medicated oil is    kept over the lower back with herbal paste boundary.    Lasting for 45 minutes to one hour,  this treatment is good    for back pain and spinal disorders.

   -Ela Kizhi-
 

This is an herbal treatment for stiffness, body pain etc., especially in Arthritis and paralysis

Boluses of fried herbal leaves are warmed by dipping it in    medicated warm oil and then massaged all    over the body.

   -Njavara Kizhi-
 

This is a process by which a hot herbal pudding tied in cloth pouches are applied on the whole body or part of it to induce sudation. The procedure offers better physical consistency, strengthening the nerves and improves complexion. This is indicated in neurological disorders, rheumatism, arthritis and emaciation of limbs, sport injuries and pain in the joints. This treatment is restorative and nourishing.
 

   -Pizhichil-

Pizhichil is one among the rare and special treatment    of    kerala. In this treatment, lukewarm herbal oils    are applied    all over the body by two to four    trained. therapists in a special rhythmic, way    continuously for about 60to 90    minutes per day    for a period of 7 to 21 days. This    treatment is    useful to cure arthritis, paralysis, sexual    weakness    and nervous disorders.

   -Udvarthanam-

This treatment is otherwise knows as powder massage. This is found very effective in obesity, hemiplegia, skin diseases, impaired circulation etc. In this procedure certain herbal powders are applied by 2 therapists in a peculiar way on the body for about 30 to 40 minutes, daily for a period of 14 to 21 days.

   -Sirovasti-

In this treatment procedure, medicated oil is    retained    about an hour with in a cap fitted around    the head. The    procedure is recommended for    facial palsy and diseases  of head and neck.

   -Greeva vasti-

In this treatment, highly medicated oil is retained with in a circle made from a natural paste    on the back of neck. This procedure is effective in treating cervical spondylosis, inter-   vertebral disc prolapse and neck pain from long hours of desk work etc.

   -Netra tarpanam-

Various medicinal herbs selected according to Dosha    predominance is made into a paste and applied to    the    scalp for 30to 45 minutes. This treatment is good for    insomnia, premature greying and other    problems related   to hair and scalp.

   -Snehapana-

   
   This word literally means oral intake of medicated oil or ghee preparations. This     is    done as    a therapeutic procedure and also as a preparatory process     during the    body purification    therapy. In this treatment Medicated ghee or    oils are given internally in proportionally    increasing quantity for a period of 8 to    12 days. This treatment is very effective for    Osteoarthritis, Psoriasis, Chronic    constipation, Haemorrhoides etc.

   -Vasti-

   
   Otherwise known as Medicated enema, Vasti is a Therapeutic procedure in which    certain    herbal oil, herbal extracts etc., are applied through the anal route daily    for a period of 5 to    25 days. This treatment is effective for rheumatism,    paralysis etc.

  - Vamana-

In this highly result-oriented method vomiting is induced artificially by giving herbal emetic drugs to expel body waste like mucous in respiratory tract and alimentary canal. Effective treatment for: Diseases caused by "Kapha Dosha" ie.Chronic Cough, Bronchitis, Bronchial Asthma, Indigestion, Insanity etc.

   -Virechana-

In this procedure purgation is induced by giving safe herbal purgatives orally for eliminating body waste materials after bringing them to small intestine, large intestine, rectum and finally through anal route. Effective treatment for: Diseases caused by vitiation of "Pitha Dosha", Liver Disorders, Ascities and Chronic constipation, Insanity, Insomnia, Epilepsy etc.
 

   -Rakta Moksha-

This method is to cause bleeding of impure blood by inflicting cuts at particular points of the body. Normally surgical instruments are used. In some cases blood letting is done by applying leeches. Effective treatment for: Diseases associated with blood impurities.
